Ancient 2000 years cultural heritage - village of Castro Marim, Alcoutim, Cacela Velha, Odeleite, etc; Natural Reserve of Castro Marim (Ramsar Convention) for birdwatching; Algarve white-sand beaches known for beauty and totaly polution free (european blue flag), all year golf-courts at 2km, Andalucia (South of Spain) at 10km, we provide especial experiences for visitors in handharving sea salt, collecting ecological figs, oranges and carrobs, making tradicional gellis and ecological iogurts. We provide intimate contact with nature and natural living in the countryside just like our grandfather and grandmothers lived. There\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s so much to do here...but we recomend to do it slowly and enbalance with innertime.
Conditions
We just ask that visitors leave the cottages just like they found it. Also ask to be aware of global warming and do not misuse electric power.
Responsible Action
We preserve family etnografic heritage (200years on Castro Marim) by reparing and maintening tipical arquitectural buildinds and tradicions, we choose to only grow endogenes plant species that have less water needs because of the natural adaptation and selection over the centuries, we use antient tecnics to avoid using chemical produts that harm the land and water resources, we have a ecological milkfarm with large natural flora fields in the natural reserv of Castro Marim that helps to maintaine avifaun diversity, we suport ecological education for visitors and neighbours, we also maintaine the ancient ecological activity of hand harvest sea salt that provides a unique habitat for aquarium-style travel birds, and we try to promote highly responsible and sustainable turism philosophy by provinding our visitores with tour-guides through the natural reserve and farm. We also try to use only produts grown in the region and to suport local farmers like us.
