Fulkharka village on the southern slopes of Ganesh Himal, has moderate weather, perfect landscape, beautiful scenery and hospitable people for agricultural studies, volunteering, agritourism, homestay and any other type of village tourism. The program will be combination of homestay, agritourism, volunteering and hiking or trekking. The top of the fulkharka hill is 3,500 m and offers magnificent view of Himalayan ranges of Manaslu and Ganesh Himal. A 5 days trek will take us through the remote Tamang villages in the arena of Ganesh Himal.
Agritourism in Fulkharka is mainly focused on rice cultivation. Rice is the main staple food of Nepal. However rice production is very low comparing to other countries. The low production is because of shortage of labors, dependency on rain and conservative techniques. Agricultural volunteering will help in production as well as improvement of soil conditions. The rice cultivation starts from July and ends in October. So the volunteering could be more... combined with the biggest festival Dashain celebration.
