Rich in the diversity of its plant and bird life, the island is part of a reserve network that includes all the islands in the Sea of Cortez, declared by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites.

Deer Island is the largest of Mazatlan's coastal islands and the only one to which access is permitted. Sendero Mexico has the required federal permits to access the island where our qualified bilingual guides will take you kayaking, exploring the beautiful coastline and rock formations.

Go snorkeling in the best locations in Mazatlan and don't miss the guided hiking tour for breathtaking views of the Sea of Cortez and Mazatlan then relax undisturbed on Deer Island’s vendor free beach, away from the busy hotels and cruise ships.

Conditions:

Tour not suitable for pregnant women, people with back problems or cardiac / hypertension problems, people under the influence of mind altering drugs or alcohol.
Moderate level of activity.
We reserve the right to cancel due to weather in which case we will propose alternative dates.

We are committed at Sendero Mexico to continue collabrating with federal agencies such as the Mexican Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP) as well as NGOS such as Pronatura Noroeste in developing projects like the Tufted Jay Preserve in the Sierra Madre Mountains. We are looking at ways to reduce of footprint.
