Description:
Day 1: Ulaanbaatar
Arrival in UB, the capital city of Mongolia-You will be welcomed and picked up by our Guide and driver at the Airport Chingis Khaan and transferred to hotels booked. After lunch in the hotel, half day sightseeing in the city will take place. A small tour to Sukhbaatar square, named after Mongolian National Hero, leader of People’s Revolution 1921. The Mongolian National History Museum will be included in the program, where you can see artifacts found in Central Asia from Stone Age to the present., and to Zaisan Tolgoi Hill, a War memorial- prominent landmark looking over the city UB from Southwest. Dinner and Overnight in the hotel. (L+D)
Day 2: Hustai National Park
Arrival at Hustai Nature Reserve to scout for the Takhi or wild Asiatic horse also known as Prezwalski horses and Deer Stones; The significance of these stone carvings remains a mystery. Overnight stay at ger camp. (B+L+D)
Day 3: Elsen Tasarkhai
Today we more... will drive to Elsen Tasarkhai which is placed in Khangai zone. It’s located in Burd Soum in Ovorkhangai aimag 280 km west of Ulaanbaatar .The area is surrounded by sand dunes, hills covered with rare bushes and a small forest near a river. Together this presents a unique combination of Mongolian mountains, forests and Gobi-type landscape in one location. The area is populated by Maral stag (elk), wolves, deer and fox. You can also see lizards and insects typical of the Gobi. (B+L+D)
Day 4: Kharakhorum
In the early morning we will leave to the city for Kharakhorum, the ancient capital city of the Mongol Empire. Originally established in 8thMongolia and succumbed to purges in 1930s. It has been restored and became a functioning monastery since 1990’s. Overnight at ger camp century so called Har Horum (The Black Fortress) was used as a military training and weapons production unit. This town was taken over by Chingis Khaan and made the capital for its strategically important location to launch military campaign and boost trade. Now, Erdene Zuu monastery stands on this site. It was built as a prototype of the ancient capital and was constructed using the ruins of the city in 1586. (B+L+D)
Day 5 Tovkhon Monastery
Early after breakfast we drive to a Monastery called Tovkhon. Tovkhon monastery is located on top of Tovkhon Mountains. Zanabazar who came here to meditate and do his artwork built the original temple complex in 1654. Zanabazar was a religious leader and gifted artist. Although the communist largely destroyed the temple during 1930’s, it has been restored with great initiatives from the local communities and many restoration projects. We will have packed lunch near the Tovkhon Temple. Afternoon drive back to the old ger camp in the Kharakhorum. Overnight stay at ger camp.(B+L+D)
Day 6: Ulaanbaatar
Back to the city. We can go shopping and see Concert- Tumen Ekh, traditional Folksong and music group of long year experience. In the afternoon we will have farewell dinner. (B+L+D)
Day 7: Departure
You will be transferred back to Airport; Departure back home. (B)
