Over the past 3 years the ex hacienda of Santa Barbara on the outskirts of Huamantla, Mexico has been undergoing a slow transformation from abandoned historical landmark to a working experiment of eco-rural tourism.

Guests to this B&B styled accomodations commit to volunteer 5 hours per day as part of their room & board. Visitors with specific skills in construction, plumbing, stone masonry, architecture and alternative building concepts are most welcome!

Visitors should understand this is a rustic, rural environment with an artistic, esoteric slant. Hot water & electricity are available, internet is sketchy, nearest population centre is 15 minutes by car, taxi or combi bus.

Rate covers room & board in private room w private bath for 1-4 people shared max. Rate is per person per day for room, breakfast, lunch (in Mexico this is the largest meal of the day served at aprox 3-4PM) inclusive of guests 5 hours per day of project involvement, assistance and/or management.
