Description:
The tour covers most of Sikkim en route to Darjeeling and kalimpong to witness the exotic beauty of the Himalayas. An interesting activity guests take part in is the Lama dance or Cham event which is a Buddhist ritualistic dance performed by monks at old Rumtek monastery, one of the oldest Buddhist Monastery in Sikkim and enjoy the Losung with them.
Day 1: Delhi (16.12.2011)
Arrive in Delhi and transfer to Indira International Inn***. Leisure day or optional tour.
Day 2: Delhi-Darjeeling (17.12.2011)
Depart to Bagdogra by morning flight and drive (76km.3hrs) to Darjeeling and check into the Hotel Deekiling. We will take a walking excursion around the city.
Day 3: Darjeeling (18.12.2011)
Early morning optional tour to Tiger hill where you can see first sun’s ray of Himalaya. After breakfast, excursion to Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Zoo, Happy valley tea garden, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help more... Center and Dali Monastery

Day 4: Darjeeling-kalimpong (19.12.2011)
We ride the world heritage Toy Train about 7km from Darjeeling to city called Ghum. The Toy Train service started in 1881 at the altitude of 2,200 meters (7,218 ft) at Darjeeling. It is still powered by steam locomotives. It serpentines along with road through the town which gives you the best sightseeing. At noon we drive to kalimpong and chek in Ganesh Villa.
Day 5: Kalimpong. (20.12.2011
We visit Durpin Monastery, eight different shape of Stupa and few monastries around tiny city. In the evening, walking excursion around the city.
Day 6: kalimpong- Gangtok (21.12.2011)
Drive to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim and check in to Hotel Tibet***. after lunch, city excursion.
Day 7: Gangtok(22.12.2011)
All day excursion to the Namgyal institute of Tibetology cum museum, Palace Monastery, Do-Drul Stupa, Orchid sanctuary, Sikkim Handicraft center. Enchey Monastery.
Day 8: Rumtek (23.12.2011)
We drive to Rumtek and visit old Rumtek monastrey to see what they call Cham, the lama dance. They perform cham a day ahead before Sikkimese New Year known as Losung. Thier new year is celebrated two months before Tibetan and Bhutanses New Year (losar).
Day 9: Gangtok- Phodong (24.12.2011)
We drive to Phodong and visit Phodong monastery, the one of the oldest monastrey of karma Kagyu school. Later, we Phensang monastery and Labdrang monastery of Nyingma school. Labdrang monastery is one of the first monastery in Sikkim.
Day 10: Gangtok-Yuksum (25.12.2011)
Drive to Yuksum via Tashiding monasteryTashiding monastery, the place where Guru Rinpoche (Indian Buddhist saint) visited and later established monastery which is one of the oldest Nyingma monastery in Sikkim dated back in 17th century and Temi tea garden, the only tea garden in Sikkim. Check in to Hotel. we visit Yuksum Lake as well as stone seats of Lonchen Rabjampa and 1st king of Sikkim in Yuksum itself in the evening.
Day 11: Yuksum-Pelling (26.12.2011)
We set off for trekking from Yuksum to Pelling( 5hrs) The trek explores through many tiny villages, beautiful paddy field and forest. You come across many friendly local traveler from village to village. Lunch serve as picnic on the way of trekking. Check in the Hotel and refresh all evening.
Day 12: Pelling (27.12.2011)
Excursion to Pemayangtse monastery and Palace of the first King of Sikkim.
Day 13: (28.12.2011)
Drive to Bagdogra and take a flight to Delhi. Transfer to The Hotel Indra International Inn. Leisure time in the evening.
Day 14: Delhi (29.12.2011)
Departure day. Transfer to airport and see you off
