We also promote lodging options that have earned sustainable certification through the Costa Rica Board of Tourism and hotels participating in Rainforest Alliance's Best Management Practices Program. In addition, we encourage travelers to participate in low-impact activities (or refrain from high impact activities) We also facilitate indigenous, rural, and volunteer tourism.
E4 offsets carbon emissions for all guided tours and some self guided tours through the purchase of environmental service certificates used to fund rainforest preservation and reforestation projects with FONAFIFO.

E4 Initiatives promotes visits to indigenous communities of Bribri and Yorkin, volunteer vacations in the rural community of El Sur de Turrubares, and facilitates volunteer activities with a local school in Jaco. All activities are featured in our guided itineraries.
