Traditons Mexicos Profile

About Me

In 1996 we had our first tour and since then it has grown into a more wholesome vision. Founder, Eric Mindling had been studying and learning about indigenous pottery in the early 90s and developed a passion for the culture and people. Manos de Oaxaca was started as an exporting pottery business that also offered pottery workshops; these were such a success that it became the seed for Traditions Mexico.

We have an honest desire to create meaningful interaction between people and place and pottery. Guests have the opportunity to purchase directly from the artisans we visit on our trips, the money goes directly into their hands and into their economy with no middle man. This is always the case for each of our tours. This is as fair as fair trade gets.

Tours are organized around special interest topics such as indigenous pottery, textiles and natural dying, folk art, and folk festivals. We are unique among other tour operators in the type of cultural exchange and immersion that we offer, it is intimate and personal for both the guest and the artisans you meet.
